Over a period of several weeks, staff will review each submission to ensure that it complies with the submission requirements and rules.

During this period, the Evaluation Panel members will score and comment on their assigned submissions using the scoring rubric.

Designation of Finalists

Informed by the results of the Evaluation Panel, up to five Finalists will be selected and awarded $115,000 each to build their prototypes.

Over the course of eleven months, Finalists will build their prototypes in preparation for a demonstration event at the Bureau of Reclamation.

Up to three team members for each Finalist will attend a demonstration event at Reclamation’s Yuma Desalting Plant.

The Demonstration Event Panel will provide their final feedback which will inform the selection of the Winner who will receive a $150,000 award and an additional $100,000 may be awarded to other Finalists.
